Pousada Tia Julia. a small place with a few small rooms. blue doors on a white house. our first night we met Marçio, Pitbull, Pedro Lucas and Thiago. the four of them were staying in the smallest room, on the corner. after that they moved out, some to kellys house and some to other pousadas. the small room on the corner was too small, they said.
\
sweet boys. our canoa friends now. marçio stops by several times a day. Eldis came over from mossoro when pitbull left. took his place for a while. gives us the suction. i think its a brazillian thing. they have, at least, mastered the art.
\
to the beach we go. all the native boys play soccer on the beach every day. we hang out at the açai-place.. everybody hangs out at the açai-place. The "little tight one" owns that place, lives there, even. every luau-night he just walks over.
like on friday, when we hade a late-night bbq with him and then went to the luau.
hliving on the beach.. he wakes up every morning, opens his window and sees the ocean and the sun.
\
the native boys are agressive boys. and girls, gringas, are expected to come to canoa, meet one boy and stay with him.. otherwise she gets a bad reputation.. all this while their native boyfriends are out picking up other girls as soon as they are away from their gringa-girl.
feminism is a word that does not exist in canoa.
\
the streets here are sand.. used to be sand. broadway, the main street is not sand anymore.
\
"bicho do pé" scares me.
\
yesterday we hade a goodbye churrasco, BBQ, for Benny-boy, the english guy whos been travelling with us. he was off to São Luiz, in a day or two we leave too.
\
everywhere you come you form a little life. I get too attached too fast. to people, to places.
I will miss our little canoa-group.
\
canoa is a really small place.
